Stress Management in Rochester, NY
Stress can affect how you sleep, feel, and manage everyday responsibilities. You do not have to wait until you are overwhelmed to talk about it.
Our Pittsford primary care team considers your symptoms, medical history, medications, routines, and the pressures you are facing. We help identify practical changes and whether further assessment or treatment would be useful.
For Rochester-area adults seeking a continuing physician relationship, our concierge approach makes room for both physical health and emotional well-being.

Practical support, built around your life
Understand your symptoms
Review fatigue, sleep changes, tension, concentration, and other concerns. Your physician considers medical and mental health causes rather than assuming every symptom is stress.
Sleep & daily routines
Discuss schedules, recovery, activity, caffeine or alcohol use, and manageable changes that fit your circumstances. Persistent sleep problems may need further evaluation.
Coping & lifestyle support
Explore realistic tools such as regular activity, relaxation, social connection, and boundaries. Your plan reflects your preferences and capacity.
Treatment & professional support
When symptoms suggest anxiety, depression, or another condition, we discuss appropriate care and coordinate mental health referral or treatment when needed.
What to expect from your visit
Bring your questions, medication list, and relevant records. Your physician reviews your history, symptoms, previous treatment, and the concerns that affect your everyday life.
We discuss whether testing will help, explain treatment options and referrals, and agree on realistic next steps. Follow-up reviews your response and any new concerns. Recommendations are individualized rather than a fixed package of tests or treatments.
This is support within primary care, not a replacement for specialist mental health treatment or crisis services. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Stress Management questions & membership
Do I need cortisol or neurotransmitter testing?
Not routinely. Tests are considered when there is a specific medical reason. A commercial stress panel or wearable score cannot by itself diagnose the cause of your symptoms.
Can stress symptoms have another cause?
Yes. Fatigue, poor sleep, and difficulty concentrating can have multiple explanations. Your physician reviews your history and decides whether further evaluation is appropriate.
When should I seek more support?
If symptoms persist, feel difficult to manage, or interfere with work, relationships, sleep, or daily tasks, seek professional assessment. More urgent or severe symptoms need prompt care.
Will I need medication or therapy?
The approach depends on your needs and preferences. Lifestyle support, psychotherapy, medication, or a combination may be appropriate after assessment.
Can I change my existing anxiety or sleep medicine?
Do not stop or adjust prescribed medication on your own. Your treating clinician can review benefits, side effects, and any safe changes or tapering plan.
What is included, and how does insurance work?
Review your current membership agreement for included visits, access arrangements, and exclusions. Our practice does not bill insurance for membership-covered primary care. Tests, imaging, medications, and specialist services may have separate charges; coverage depends on your insurer and outside providers. Membership is not health insurance.
Support beyond one appointment
Your plan may connect with lifestyle medicine, menopause care, or chronic disease management. For general information, see NIMH’s guide to stress and coping.
Our membership-based practice supports an ongoing physician relationship. Appointment availability, communication arrangements, and included services follow the current membership agreement. Discuss these details during your free meet and greet.
